Proposed
By-law Amendments (attached) – Mayor Glover explained to the membership that
the Executive Board had some proposed changes to the By-laws.
When By-laws are to be amended, it is required that the vote go to the
entire membership.
At
the February, 2004 meeting the following 3 changes were requested:
1.
Page 1 title and Article 1; (‘Name’) –
Add
“Inc.” to the name “Okaloosa County League of Cities”
2.
Article VI (‘Meeting of Members’), Section 1 – now reads
“…shall be held monthly, first Thursday of the month”.
Change
to read “…shall be held monthly.”
3.
Article VI (‘Meeting of Members’), Section 2 – now reads
“Quarterly dinner meetings of membership of Okaloosa County municipalities and
towns shall be held in the spring (March), summer (June), fall (September), and
winter (December) of each calendar year. The
exact date, time, and place thereof to be determined by the host city.
Host cities are rotated alphabetically.”
Change
to read, “Quarterly dinner meetings of membership of
Okaloosa
County
municipalities and towns shall be held in the winter (January), spring
(April), summer (July) and fall (October) of each calendar year.
The exact date, time, and place thereof to be determined by the host

At
the March, 2004 meeting the following 2 changes were requested:
1.
Article VII (‘Officers’), Section 2 – now reads “Officers of the
League shall be elected in November of each calendar year by the majority vote
of the Board of Directors. Installation
of officers shall be at the close of business at the December quarterly meeting
of each calendar year.”
Change
to read, “Officers of the League shall be elected in September of each
calendar year by the majority vote of the Board of Directors.
Installation of officers shall be at the close of business at the October
quarterly meeting of each calendar year.”
2.
Article VIII (‘Committees’), Section 1 – now reads “…and at
last two additional members…”
Change
to read, “…and at least two additional members…”
Councilmember
Swihart moved to amend the By-Laws to include the changes indicated by Mayor
Glover. Councilmember Payne seconded
the motion and it passed unanimously.
