CALL TO ORDER

President Nick Chubb stated that there was a quorum and called the meeting to order at 6:13 p.m. at The Niceville Community Center.

PRESENT BOARD MEMBERS

Nick Chubb (President) - Cinco Bayou

Charles Baugh (Vice President) - Crestview

Sam Seevers - Destin

Chuck Bolton - Mary Esther

Randall Wise - Niceville

Jerry McCallister - Shalimar

OTHERS IN ATTENDANCE

Heyward Strong - Valparaiso

Tina Smith - Shalimar

NEW BUSINESS:

-  Discussion to possibly Rescind Resolution 2009-03 (attached) - Mayor Combs - Mayor Combs was unable to attend but Valparaiso Commissioner Heyward Strong was in present to answer any questions.  Heyward briefed the Board about the history of the lawsuits and their current status.  When asked, he answered that Valparaiso would not accept modifications to the resolution, only a rescission.  Valparaiso feels that the League didn’t have the authority to pass a resolution and the resolution doesn’t make sense.

Commissioner Strong left the board to discuss and make a decision.  Mayor Bolton believes that if the League didn’t ask Valparaiso to leave, they shouldn’t be required to ask them back.  There was also some discussion of the current Okaloosa County League of Cities, Inc. By-Laws.

Councilman Baugh moved to rescind Resolution 2009-03.  The motion was seconded by Commissioner McCallister.  The motion failed with a tie vote with Councilman Baugh, Commissioner McCallister, and Mayor Seevers voting Yay and Councilman Chubb, Mayor Wise, and Mayor Bolton voting Nay.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

-  June 7, 2010 - OCLOC lunch meeting

ADJOURN - Councilman Baugh moved to adjourn the meeting.  The motion was seconded by Mayor Bolton and passed unanimously.
